| Tourist Guide of Corniglia |
| Corniglia lies in a central position respect to the other villages of the Cinque Terre, precisely to the east of Vernazza, seat of the municipality (to which it is connected by a suggestive footpath that runs along the mountainside, suspended between the hill top and the sea) and to the west of Manarola and Riomaggiore. Corniglia differs from the other villages of the Cinque Terre since it does not directly face the sea but lies on top of a promontory 100 metres high, surrounded by vineyards cultivated in typical hillside terraces situated along the slopes, except for the side facing the sea. To reach Corniglia one must climb the “Lardarina”, a long flight of steps comprised of thirty-three sets of 377 steps, or take the road that links the station to the village. |
