| Tourist Guide of Manarola |
| Manarola, like the other villages of the Cinque Terre, is set between the Ligurian Sea and a steep chain of mountains that is separated from the Apennines in the vicinity of Mount Zatta and descends towards south-east, dividing Val di Vara from the coastal area. The village rises on the terminal stretch of the valley of the Groppo River. The typical colorful Genoese tower - houses are huddled one on top of the other and overlook the main road, called Via Discovolo, which used to be a watercourse. The village clings to the rocky crag that runs straight down to the sea, creating a web of narrow alleys that run in parallel on different intermediate levels and linked by irregular slate steps. North-west of Manarola we can find the other towns of the Cinque Terre |
